Think Positively

Recently I re-watched a movie called Tomorrowland with my daughters.  I heard it didn’t do too well, but I hold it in high regards.  It shows how the negative in this world is pushed on us and controls our thinking.  There is a story in the movie about two wolves- a good one and a bad one.  The moral of the story was that we have to feed the right wolf for the outcome we want.  We all get caught in the bandwagon thinking of how horrible life is.  We focus on what we consider unjust or unfair.  All the good times or even the positive outcome that come out of bad situations get lost on us.

If we were to feed the good or positive wolf to continuing the moral mention earlier, if we were to feed the good or positive wolf, there would be more positive things happening or we would be able to see them as they are already happening.  Can you imagine if the news spoke and not fed into fears with the negatives of the world like war and corruption and put more emphasis on the people helping each other and the positive events that happen?  Do you think if the negative wasn’t being shoved in our faces every day we would have better mindsets and less depression?

Not only thinking can turn the world around, but it’s a start.  Next is action- the way we talk, act, and treat others.  With an action there is always a reaction.  If both of those are positive, then the chain reaction has started.  Remember the days when a random person paid forward for the person behind him?  Others did follow suit.  Now if we can get that kindness happening every day (doesn’t have to be anything like pay forward), I can’t even imagine how this world would change.  I just know it would change in a good way.

It seems like the media and corporations want us to live in fear.  Maybe we should take a page from the animated movie Monster, Inc. and prove to them that positive energy (laughter in the movie) is the best source of energy- respect and empathy, knowledge and education, friends and family.  There is some untapped revenue out there because no one wants to seek out the positive way of doing business or let go of making a huge profit over a smaller profit and happier consumers.

It’s so hard for this to catch on with children because they are influenced by what they see.  The adults and older siblings need to show or tell them what is right and wrong and not let the world do it for them.  These days you have to make sure kids know what they see in shows or movies is not real.  I am one who likes to watch action, suspense and detective shows, so I was one who killed Hollywood magic at a young age for my girls.  The cool part of that was that they would try to figure out how the stunts were done- thus the artists were born…
